Why are your trips so long and what is the advantage of booking a longer trip? Alabama’s coastal waters get deep very gradually, so we have to go out at least about 20 miles to target these reef / bottom fish species. Reef fish that we target include red snapper, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, amberjack, and grouper. What we target on your trip will depend on the length of your trip (the more time, the better) and the reef fish seasons. Travel time out to the deep sea fishing area will be about 1-1.5 hours, regardless of the length of the trip (this excludes bluewater trips, which have longer travel time). So, a longer trip equals more fishing time to target more species. Make a day of it! Bring some lunch and enjoy your time with friends and family!

Customary deckhand gratuity is 20% of the cost of the trip, which includes fish cleaning. Just bring some Ziploc bags. Bring a cooler of food and drinks for your group. No glass bottles please!
